In France the burka is banned and two police officers tried to check the ID of an 18 year old woman wearing a burka, she refused and attacked the police officers and said she doesnt obey French Law. They were surrounded by about 50 people who attacked them and they called for backup and a female police officer tried to arrest the 18 year old but was bit by her.

The 18 year old was arrested but was ordered released by a prosecutor so not to upset muslims because it was ramadan.

This is crazy, the woman committed assault and broke the law but because of her religion she gets released, if a white woman did this she would be arrested.

Do you think its time for countries to take a harder stance against people like this and stop this political correctness?

From what I understand, and I may be wrong, aren't most of the Muslims in France there as guest workers and temporary asylum seekers, categories that don't lead to citizenship?

Eh wtf, how is this even called law enforcement? If their religion of peace friends want to make trouble because they are offended for breaking the law, arrest them too.

I agree. This is the failure of multiculturalism and political correctness gone too far

Check out the website he posted the story from. Its unbelievably right wing.

I wouldn't expect anything else from our resident white supremacist.

So if this happened in France, why is the story on a Danish website?

"I don't obey the laws of the French Republic"

I have to admit that is bothersome to read.

So whose laws does she obey? Let's throw Saudi Arabia's into the mix as an example...my guess for a woman hitting a police officer she would either be severely beaten or executed.

No. Most are legal immigrants from former French colonies like Algeria, Tunisia, etc.

The woman striking the police officer, and believing she was under no obligation to obey the law of the country she immigrated to, is inexcusable.

That said, the burka banning law is also ridiculous. Not only because it impairs religious freedom, but look at the position it puts police in. They have to face off against religious fundies over a victimless practice, or else look the other way and face criticism for not enforcing the law. The police are screwed either way.

The problem is criminals are difficult to identify when wearing masks like that. See Iraq insurgents for more info.
