In California, don't you have to help the burglar carry your shit out to his van?

I've gone over it many times mentally and I'm already sure of what I would do. I would shoot center mass as many and as quickly as possible. No announcement, no sound, just bang-bang-bang. Then I'd look for others and call police. They're rarely alone.

Only if he's an illegal alien, gay or somebody in show biz.

Shoot to kill, you don't know what he might be capable of if wounded or startled. If necessary plant a weapon on him before calling the cops.

why don't you actually look up the self defense laws for california? Seems like the smart and logical thing to do...

California is a duty to retreat state AFAIK. You must make all reasonable attempts to retreat and can only use force in self defense. You're hands are tied as far as what you can do legally.

Most states have castle laws where you can shoot them dead just for being in your house. And by law you can't be held criminally or civilly liable.

you shoot to stop the threat, not to kill.

do not plant a weapon, you're just going to get caught.

Don't forget to sprinkle some crack on him after you plant that weapon

Castle laws prevent any lawsuit from being filed against you in most of the free states.

My question to that is, where the hell do you retreat to if you are in your own house? Or does the law mean that if you are on the street, you need to make an attempt to run away?

Being of the race that I am, I'd be arrested and spend the rest of my time in jail for trying to defend myself.

So I'd curl up like a bitch and let the burglar have his way.

Laws in the USA are not meant to protect minorities.

Never confront a burglar unless you have to. There is no value in doing this. Your property is insured.

If you can, barricade yourself in a room, call the police. If the burglar tries to come in that room annouce you are armed and will shoot. (this is why my main self defense weapon for the home is a 12 gauge with 00 buck, little chance of missing or getting up)

Always do everything you can to avoid the situation, being aggressive and engaging the suspect just gets you a trip to jail.

The only way to be sure of stopping the threat is to kill. You really think you can intentionally wing a guy in a life or death situation and be sure he'll go down without being about to do something to you???!?!

ROFLMAO!!!! Enjoy your little fantasy where you're the star of a buddy cop movie.

Fuck that. If you're in my house illegally and uninvited, you forfeit your life. Period.

Given nobody will be looking for them and know their whereabouts. I would handicap them. Then maim and torture as I see fit.

That totally depends on the state. In most states it is actually illegal to charge you with anything. These are called free states. Then you have "the fucked up states" like california where what you say is sadly true.
