Burger King $1 Taco

I just had one so you don't have to. I was curious. I thought, how bad could it be?

Well, it's every bit as bad as a $1 taco from Burger King could be . . . maybe even worse.

It's taste was dominated by a slab of shitty American cheese, which overwhelmed its meat like substance to the point I couldn't even taste it.

In retrospect, that may have been for the best.

How does it compare to the bottom end TacoBell crunchy tacos? I like those. Not much to them, but the couple times a year I go to TacoBell, I enjoy them.

The burger King Taco is the exact same Taco as the jack on the Box 2 tacos for a dollar@! That's how bad they are!!

I like Taco Bell crunchy tacos, never mind the mystery meat. Once every other month or so is fine!

So I was curious to see what BK's was like. It's an abomination, so truly awful! I couldn't believe how bad it was. I want my effing dollar back.

I tried them the other day. A little salty, and extremely ugly...but not bad. If they had like half the salt & looked pretty, I think Taco Bell would have some competition!

Had one the other day. Sucked big time. So bad I went to BK website and told them so. I thought I would at least get a coupon for one free fri, but no. At least Taco Bell’s ads look like their actual taco. Whoever implemented this promotion at BK needs to be fired.

Seriously? And you are the Kitchen Overlord? Mine was so greasy it made me sick. This is the worst taco I have partially ever eaten.

Mine didn't look as bad as that, but halfway as bad lol. I really had to consider actually eating it based on the color & wetness in the middle.

It's very odd, because BK usually does halfway decent weird products, like their hot dogs. All of my tacos looked terrible compared to Taco Bell's tacos.

The weirdest part of the whole thing was the color. It just...wasn't right. They were the color of sadness.

Mine had the sad color, plus the wet spot of ingredients in the center, like in this video (screenshot below).

However, despite the looks, they weren't terrible...a little too salty, but the visuals were off-putting for sure. Mine weren't greasy, however, and they didn't leave me feeling sick, so +1 for that lol.

They should have just gone the distance & made it an empanada. Then they (1) could have sealed up the edges properly, instead of having that weird crispy-but-not-really edge, and (2) shipped them frozen so that they could just toss them in the deep-fryer with the fries. And maybe added some orange food dye just to make them more visually appealing...

my guess is that these things are shipped prepared and frozen and they re-heat them in the microwave? That's the kind of thing that happens when you unevenly re-heat those frozen "Taco-like" things (like the Costco of Trader Joe's mini frozen tacos).
