As the San Diego competition got underway tonight, MLG was delighted to see that Bungie's own Lukems and Shishka were on hand to check out the action--and reveal to us that they had a very special surprise for the people in attendance. At 6 p.m. PT tomorrow (Saturday), Bungie and MLG will be putting on a very special event on the Halo 3 Main Stage. We are not allowed to say anything specific about it right now, but trust us when we say that you DO NOT want to miss what we have in store for you. We will not be showing it on the web--this is a special treat to the people who came out to the event. So if you live in the San Diego area, definitely be sure to come out tomorrow and check it out--you won't be seeing this anywhere else...

And for anyone who lives too far away to make it out, we will post up some info about what went down soon after the fact, so keep your browser locked to mlgpro.com!

Wonder what it is... Hopefully something good! But I'm guessing just MLG related.

Is this like the MS announcement on Monday? ;)

I wonder what this is? Some teaser for an upcoming project?

Pfft, I "do NOT want to miss" an announcement for new map(s)? What a shitty letdown.

This was addressed to the people at the MLG tournament. A new Halo map would probably be a good surprise for MLG players and fans since they live and breathe Halo 3 and other games. This wasn't necessarily meant for the average console gamer.

Chill Out was one of the favorite maps for MLG, so I can see how it would be exciting to them.

Personally though, I don't know why they ever switched from Halo 1. Halo 3 and especially 2 aren't all the suited to competitive gameplay.

Taking the intended audience into consideration is for losers.

I, for one, enjoy going to message boards of small Eastern European town halls and posting that I think their meeting minutes bulletin is a "shitty letdown".
