Might be worth it for VirtualPC and Office, but the rest is crap, I wonder if these are unrestricted versions and not beta-ish?

Unrestricted versions for NON commercial use. Read the EULA on the web site.

I wish there was still a $200 off coupon..

I know last year I got in for $99, and they're offering me renewal for $199, but I'd say its not really worth it to keep up the action pack from year to year unless you're using the server software. For office and/or windows, its just a few years of subscribing until you've payed for it completely.

Technically, the software licenses expire at the end of the 1 year subscription (if U don?t renew). MS doesn't make you return the CDs and CD Keys, but I am not sure if the activation keys are still good if you don?t renew.

I had a subscription and went to renew and they said I could not for some reason, claiming that they changed the restrictions to MSDN members or Premium members or something like that, and I am actually a legit seller of microsoft software. Sucks for me.

BTW: The rep I was speaking to said that since I fell in this group, my software licenses are still good, and do not expire. I am happy with that.

I got the $99 deal and $199 renewal offer. I got a letter that said if I didn't renew I was supposed to destroy all cd's. If the keys remain good I'll be a happy camper.

MSDN sub is different than the Action Pack sub. It is my understanding that, the MSDN is a perpetual license. When your MSDN expires, you no longer get updates, but it is still legal for you to use the software.

I looked into this a month or so ago when I saw some slime ball selling the info for it on ebay. I figured I could find out the same info just by looking so I did and signed up. MS had no problem signing me up just listed as a system builder making <5K/year at it (basically an enthusiasts) .
