welcome to Respectable Street Cafe in West Palm Beach in the late 80's

We tell the homeless if we found our cars messed up we'd do the same to them...at the end of the night they could get a tip.

I had a guy ask me for $2 once; but before I could say no he offered me a screwdriver. he evidently needed two bucks and was trying to sell whatever was lying around in his car or something. So I took his offer... that screwdriver turned out to be one hell of a tool! Reversible phillips/flat, plus six removable tips all contained inside the handle. Best $2 I ever spent.

But aside from him, I never give them money but I have dropped off sacks of warm food from nearby drive-throughs. At least they eat that, instead of spending it on beer.

I never give money. Denver has so many homeless, that if I were to give change to every one that approached me, I'd have to get a second job just to support it.

Most of the bums I encounter here in Connecticut are standing at the end of exit ramps off I-95 & are dropped off there by a church/scam group that actually turns a profit & donates very little money to actual charity, so I never give them a dime.

I do donate to my local homless shelter though.
