bumping threads not allowed!

Banned
so this morning i guess i asked to many questions in threads here is the quote i got from the mod that hates me esquared..

"This is your second warning on serial bumping. This AM you bumped 7 threads (one was yours) in 30 minutes from 6:12AM to 6:42AM. That is not allowed. Bumping 3-4 thread in an hour (counting yours) will not raise any eyebrows from the mods. More than that will."

i dont remember a first warning about "serial" bumping.. i was warned about possible thread crapping and asking about warranty (asking about warranty is not allowed here!)

sorry if i go and ask questions i guess ill have to only ask a few people at a time questions and not in the thread for others to see? ima go look what bumps i did but seems very odd that you cant post in more than a few at once..

so posting 96 posts in a day is fine (4x24) but if you post 5 and they are within a hour you can get banned!

You were warned on 1/20/08 regarding excesive bumping of FS/T threads, it appears you received a second such warning today. All three of your moderator actions have been from different moderators, so I take offense as you suggesting that a particular mod 'hates' you.

Also, you posted this in the wrong forum, so I moved it to PFI.

i have no msgs from that day wish i knew what it said.. do you think it is excessive bumps to ask about things in the thread?i didnt know you where limited to how many posts you can do in a hour seems INSANE..

If courtesy bumping was allowed, then the value of a thread will no longer be determined by the members, but become a popularity contest.

By limiting the bumps to 3-4 hour it:
1) Forces you to determine who's back you wish to scratch 🙁
2) What threads you deem important enough to obtain information
3) Allows others to view threads on the first couple of pages that may have new information (#2)

This limit is an acknowledgment that one may have a need to exchange information in a few threads at the same time.

It was also intended to stop with the old boy network that was based on popularity vs product.

i could see if it was a thread i bumped before or if i was just doing it to help them but i did it to help me and the others buying the stuff.. also one was question about his shipping policy.

BeWare of pming mods Its actually a rule
"If you like to kepp that in your sig it needs to reflect do not contact individual mods as it is posted in the guideline."

Beware its also against the rules to ask more than 4 questions a hour!

At this rate it's going to take you a very long time and make for a very long signature before you learn all the rules.

Just a suggestion, and one you don't have to take if you don't want to. Your signature makes you look like a whiner & a trouble maker. I'll compare it to something from my background - it's like having a student warned for talking in class come in wearing a shirt the next day that says "warning, don't talk in class or you'll get in trouble."

Do you really think that people want to trade with whiners (I'm not saying that you're a whiner; only that your signature makes it appear that you are) who distort the truth? "beware it's also against the rules to ask more than 4 questions an hour!" would be much more accurate if it said "Beware, it's considered neffing (and against the rules) to bump more than 4 FS/FT threads an hour." Note, I also fixed your spelling and punctuation; at the very least, you might want to fix that.

Hopefully you understand from Common Courtesy's post why it was necessary for the moderators to enforce such a rule. Asking in the personal issues forum about the reason for a rule or a warning is one thing. But, again, putting it in your signature is the kind of behavior I'm more prone to characterize as immature whining.

If a person in your thread asks a question about shipping, why not PM him? If the question adds value to your original post, edit the OP and insert that information.

This is what I suggest. If people ask questions about an item i am selling, I add it to the original post via editing so I don't have to answer the question again later.

great suggestions.. ill google the spelling later as im not a english expert yet.. as for it being in my sig i think its funny.. i guess no one else does since the truth hurts.. alot of people get mad if you pm them with out bumping i guess they will just have to be mad and ill msg them that when i ask them for the heatware / pp info..

you compare asking questions to talking to friends in class... think its absurd i can set a timer and do 4 bumps a hour but 6 bumps in 30 mins (8 that day probly) is against the rules..

so do these bumps (the 4 a hour) be within mins of each other?

seems like the gun range i go to where you can not shoot at the heads on the target and you have to wait 3 seconds between each shot.. my sister got banned for unleashing the whole mag at the head with no pause between shots.. she said she forgot..

can anyone resend me the first warning?

So, it's your whole family who has problems dealing with authority figures and following the rules?

You're not an expert at English and that's OK but why is it that you don't use capital letters? Why do you finish your sentences with two periods?

You are hard to read in the first place and the lack of punctuation just makes it worst. If you want people to take the time to read you, take the time to write what you want to say properly.

Edit: Corrected a spelling mistake.

if i am hard to read because i don't use CAPS or periods you must be worse or as you call it "worst" at English than me! Not sure how caps helps you read but maybe a set of glasses would help or a bigger lcd.

Not good way to start your return

i dont get this either...what about all the pics posted over time by those that are listed as the last post in every thread on a page? Is it just FS/T?

The rule this thread is referring to applies moreso to FS/T as it pushes legitimate threads down the page too rapidly. However, the no neffing rule applies to all the forums. While the mods certainly aren't trying to micromanage every post, there have been times when people have only seemed to be posting to increase their post count; every post was one or two words.

However, in the two instances I'm aware of that you referenced, neither was really done intentionally; at least at first. All the replies were legitimate. It just so happened that OT was dead at that time - I can't recall seeing 15 time stamps that were within 3 minutes of each other. (I noticed it once when there appeared to only be two of us in OT for about half an hour at 7am EST on a Sunday morning)

I think we can lock this now, the OP has been warned by 3 or 4 senior mods on his posting comments (mod callouts) and rule violations. If that continues after this latest vacation, I will simply ban him, he's had enough warnings.
