Hi,
I got my new Graphics card that I've been waiting patiently for to come in the mail for a week! Installed it on Thursday and Black Screen! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I have an ASUS A7M266 that I purchased last year and I tried to install a Visiontek Xtasy Ti4400 128mb graphics card into it and I just finished removing all traces of ATI on my system, put in the Xtasy Ti4400, rebooted and nothing. I can consistantly get to the BIOS by hitting Delete every 2 secs, but until the BIOS comes up I can't see a thing. Then when I reboot the system loads, but I still can't see a thing. I know its loading because it acts just like it does everytime I boot up, just no display (Black Screen) I've done everything I can think of to do but nothing seems to solve my problem. Could the Video card be incompatible? Does anyone know of a compatibility list? There is a Compatibility list link on Visionteks website, but it doesn't go anywhere. Has anyone else ran into this problem or have any ideas?
I have emailed Visiontek but haven?t heard back from them.
I have a Radeon 7200 in my system that works just fine, but I wanted to upgrade and get a card with a DVI that was powerful.
I have already upgraded to the latest BIOS (1007) and have upgraded my AMD AGP miniport to version 5.33.0.2 I also removed all of my PCI Cards to check to see if it was a compatibility issue. I have uninstalled the Radeon Drivers and edited my registry to take all traces out. I know the new card works because I installed it in another system and it booted up fine.
My System Specs:
ANTEC PLUS 1080B Case with 430 Watt Power Supply
ASUS A7M266 Motherboard BIOS 1007
AMD Athlon 1200 w/ 266 Front Side Bus
(2) Crucial 256MB DDR 2100 Memory
Visontek Xtasy GeForce4 AGP 128MB Graphics Card (not working)
(Works fine with my Radeon 7200 though)
Dell 2000FP 20 inch Flat Panel Monitor
Maxtor 80GB 7200rpm
Maxtor 30GB 7200rpm
SBLive
Pacific Digital 32x CDRW
Toshiba 16x DVD
DirectX 8.1
Any help would be appreciated very much.
Thanks
