Basically the best bullet cam out right now is a Sony CCD up to 560 TVL. Many vendors selling it as different products but they all haev the same connectors. 1 power and 1 RCA/BNC. It would seem to me that even if the camera captures dvd resolution, the composite cable it transfers on would muddy that quite a bit.

Is anyone aware of a waterproof high res camera (digital cable) preferably based off the Sony CCD that might be compatible with an Archos DV 500 or Sony cam.

I need a rugged design that can at least take a few hits from a paintball gun.

Have you looked at Viosport?

Edit: Just found this site too. I've been trying to find a cheap and RUGGED recording combo for offroad use, I like what I've seen on there so far.

It definitely uses the right camera. Unfortunately its still not a direct digital signal like firewire or usb. Most dv cams have a firewire port I was hoping to make use of much like a webcam would work for a computer.

I really want to use the max quality of the camera.
