Because Passmark is not a good benchmark. I remember I did tests between my Q6600 @ 3.4ghz and Core i7-860 @ 3.9ghz and Passmark was all over the place (some tests barely better, some tests almost 2x better). In reality, it had nothing to do with my real world improvements in the programs I run.
