This is a basic question. I have p4p800 deluxe. Installing a p4 2.4c. CPU goes in fine. But the the heatsink and fan are another issue. After placing the retention clips in the retention module and locking down the clips, it is so tight that the heatsink presses on the cpu so much that the back of the board bulges out. Took it apart, and the cpu is fine, no cracks, but it doens't seem right? Anyone had this problem? Any workarounds, like removing the 4 white feet in the corners of the retention module? Thanks! This is the first time i've put a system together, so go easy on me.

Don't mess with it, this is "by design." I think one of the www.SilentPCReview.com heatsink reviews has a side view pic that shows the typical bend, but I saw it a couple of months ago so it might have been at Toms instead.

It's no problem, but if it bugs you you can buy a new retention bracket with the metal back plate that will prevent this(about $3). Some more expensive boards come with this, the P4P800 does not.

Your board is preggers! In a few months it'll give birth to a little Celeron chip...
