these are the components I am considering

Case: Coolermaster ATC-210-vx1
CPU: Intel P4 2.8 GHz
Power: Enermax EG465p-ve
Mobo: Intel D850EMVL2
RAM: Kingston 1066 MHz RDRAM (4X256)
HD: Western Digital Special Edition 120 GB
CD-RW: Yamaha 44x24x44
graphics; AIT Radeon 9700 pro
Sound: SB Audigy 2
Speakers: Klipsch 5.1

Questions I have...

is there a better/less expensive mobo for RDRAM? Someone mentioned the Asus p4T533 in another post...why would I use the Asus over thre intel?

What about RDRAM...is it worth the extra money or could I buy a cheaper mobo and go with ddr or sdram?

Where is the best place to buy? I have heard a lot of good things abotu newegg who else should I think about using?

thanks

I would go with the Asus mobo, just because they are famous for stabile motherboards.
You might wanna look at a similar Albitron, or Gigabyte. I haven't dealt with any of the other mobo companies besides, biostar.
The RD ram is good for your P4, as it will allow enough memory bandwidth for the P4

NewEgg is excellent for PC parts, and also I have heard good things about Directron, and GoogleGear.

You can check out other vendors here..Ratings

Good luck with that machine, sounds nice

1 GB of RAM is probably overkill. I am a hardcore gamer and my wife does some video editing (mostly basic stuff). She told me I could spend $2200 on a new computer so I am trying to build the best rig possible for that price and figured the extra RAM would not hurt

why woulod you go with ddr?

is the performance of the rdram not worth the price difference compared to ddr?

is it the limited number of mobos that support rdram?

With that highend P4, I would go with the PC1066, and if you need to cut down on the cost, then cut the ram in half to 512 (which is fine)
