Well I built my XP 2200+/Geforce 4 Ti 4400 a few weeks ago and am now in the planning stages for a $30 upgrade to get me over 12k for 3dmarks. Currently, I have a 34 CFM Antec exhaust fan, I plan on upgrading that to an adjustable YS Tech (Up to 48CFM) just to lower my case temps a little bit. I then am going to get another slot cooler and put it on the other side of my video card (Already have one on the GPU side, going to reverse this one to suck air off the PCB and ram sinks on the back of my Siluro 4400). I already can overclock my video card to 4600 levels but just want the card to be cooler. Finally, I will be unlocking my Thoroughbred using a conductive pen, also adding Arctic Silver 3 and removing my present Antec Silver. I will run my Athlon at 166 * 11 for an effective 1826, my Athlon is stable at 1890 at stock VCORE, maybe I can hit 1900 with a raised VCORE.
-System Temp to drop from 29 C to 26C
-CPU Temp to drop from 49C to 47C
-3dmark to go up from 11641 to 12k (May overclock video card a little bit more)
- Run Doom 3 at 1024 * 724 with details maxed (Possible with Geforce 4?)
Are these all fesible, is the surrounding my video card with two slot coolers a good idea? Thanks
