When I power on, the comp always starts for a few seconds and then immediately restarts. Afterwards it stays on for a while longer but nothing happens. No display. Fans spinning, CD ROM works, power should be fine. No beep, no post. I should mention I accidentally dropped the CPU about 1 inch onto the motherboard. Hope its not the CPU, could it be anything else?

I5-2500k
Asus maximum IV gene-z
Gskill rip jaw ram
Crucial m4128
Seasonings ss-560km
Corsair h60

Any ideas?

Take all ram out and install only one stick in first slot. Try to turn on.

Also, double check you plugged in 4-pin from power for CPU

Start at the beginning. Too many people assemble everything all at once and when there's a problem booting, they have no way to narrow things down.

Do a minimal install outside the box with one stick of ram and no HDD or other peripheral. Make sure the one stick of ram is in the correct slot for that configuration. Check case connectors for proper orientation to pin one. Do not rely on the cable labels. Look for the embossed triangle on each plug. Try to boot.

Started over, did the cear rtc ram jumper, installed only the bare minimum, it worked! I may have been fooled by the dimm slots. They're the dimm slots that only open up on one side, so I didn't know I had to insert the ram so it clicks on both sides. Thanks everyone.
