Built it from parts, but can't get it to boot

I finally got in all my parts and have them installed, but I can't get anything on my monitor. I know the monitor works because I've been using it with other computers. I've checked all the jumpers on my mobo and I know those are correct. All my connections should be fine considering I've put it together and taken it apart 3 times.

I think my problem might be the video card. It's connected through the AGP slot and I was going to try to buy a cheap card to connect to the PCI slot, and once my system is running replace it with tthe Radeon. I appreciate any suggestions.

Welcome to the Forums alwayslearning 🙂 One thing that gets overlooked a lot on the K8V series is the four-pin ATX12V plug, which plugs into that little square fitting up near the top-left edge of the board, sort of at the CPU socket's 11-o'clock position. Did you get that hooked up?

Also really make sure that AGP card is firmly seated ALLLLLLLL the way down into the slot, since there are two layers of contacts in there. Check the "Benchtest" page of the guide that's linked in my signature below for visuals on that. Good luck! 🙂

I just had a similar problem building a p4 unit with a Radeon 9800 pro video card. For me it turn out that the Power supply(Enermax) unit was defective and no matter what video card card I stuck in for testing - I would never see anything on the screen. I finally tried another PS and everything worked fine! I did return the Enermax power supply back to SVC yesterday and they hooked up one of those funky ATX power tester and told me that it is working fine. I told them to hook it up to a motherboard and video card to try and convince me. They later told me that they will replace it and send me another one.
