I'm using Roxio v6 and dont like it. i just need a simple burning program for data files. and maybe to make a bootable cd.

Does WinXP come w/built in CD burner capabilites?

Yes, but they're fairly limited. You can burn data CDs, but I don't think you can make bootable CDs.

Have you tried Nero?

I second MrChad here. XP's built-in CD writing capabilities are fine for making data CDs, but it doesn't allow making data CDs or copies of CDs easily. Nero is really good and I highly recommend it.

ditto! I usually use Windows XP's burning capability to make data discs because it's a simple matter of dragging and dropping the files into the CD folder and then clicking Write these files to a CD. Piece of cake. For anything more extensive than that, go with Nero.

Agreed with Kaido. WinXP's data burning capabilities are the best. The only thing else that I need to have is CloneCD.
