Hi guys
here's the setup
X-Dreamer II Case
Gigabyte GA 7n400-L Motherboard
AMD XP2200+ Processor
TI4200 GPU
whole buncha lights and fancy shtuff.

We plugged everything in - double checked it all...nothing seems to boot up - it seems dead. Anyone know the probably cause of this? My first guess is the PSU, which sucks, because we just put wire sleeves over it all =O

Thank you

Jacob

try reseeding the cpu/heatsink etc.

Double check the pwr connector from the case to the mainboard.

Just to make sure, if the powersupply has on/off switch in the back of it.

Check the jumpers on the board? Sometimes a wrongly placed jumper (having the CMOS reset ON) can make a system appear dead. But if you're getting nothing at all going on when you hit the power switch try doing a manual short of the power switch jumper with a screwdriver head to make sure the switch is working. I'm not sure if shorting with a screwdriver is *good* advice to give out, but it's the way I've always test to see if the switch itself was the problem.

That was my guess - argh! I'll start with the power supply by RMA'ing it thru new egg.

Thanks man.

Before I wasted time doing that, if you don't have a PSU you can borrow from someone else for testing purposes, go to like CompUSA and buy one to test with. If it works you know you have a bad PSU then RMA yours back and return the one you bought to CompUSA so you're not out any more money.

Or, better yet, if you can spend a bit more, to avoid future similar circumstances, buy the Antec PSU tester that CompUSA carries. I think it's less than $20 (even cheaper online).
