I just finished building a new computer and I have a few questions. I just loaded up Windows XP and the system is fine.

The motherboard is older and has a newer BIOS. I want to update this before I do anything. I DLed the latest BIOS update for my board on my other computer which is connected to the internet.

Is my next step to copy the upgrade on a disk and put into my new computer and type A:\AWDFLASH?

Also, I need to update my video card driver. How do I extract the ones already supplied by Windows?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, you should put the new BIOS file on a Floppy. I believe you'll need the Flash program on there as well (read the instructions to be sure).

For the Video Card, I always just install the new Drivers from the Vendor package. Never tried removing the XP drivers (there generic), haven't really ever had any issues doing it this way.

Maybe someone else has something else to say on the Video portion of this.
