I need all of your help, im slowly builing a new computer. I want it to be able to fit all the goodies. What do you reccomend for a case, i was thinking something in the lian line but i dont know crap. What about good fans and a seroius power supply?

The Antec P180 is a really popular case right now. It doesn't have a transparent side panel, but it's quiet and it looks good.

As for a power supply, it depends I suppose. Are you mainly interested in silence, or is this not a huge concern? The Phantom line from Antec are nice quiet power supplies, and I know OCZ and Enermax make some excellent power supplies as well.

yeah, noise dosent matter at all, as long as its a solid power supply and good for o/c if i ever leaqrn how to do that. it will probably run a fairly intensive graphics card too.

Ive decide on this case to go with my system

Im a noob i know, do i need dual rail, i picked it becasue of the great rating

if you like the pc65, try the newer lian li pc6 plus; it has a 120mm intake fan and two 80mm exhaust fans, as well as a 120mm blower. The 120mm intake should provide more airflow while being quieter than the pc65's two 60mm fans. As for a power supply, try to find a good modular power supply, as they come in handy when it's time to fix the wiring. OCZ makes a good modular one, as does Antec. Check www.frozencpu.com for other good ones.

Don't get a Lian Li they may be good quality but they are way overpriced. If you like that case enough than get it. If not get an Antec PlusView 1000. They seem to be really popular and I own one myself and I love it. (Couldn't seem to find it at Newegg or every where els.

that pc 60 plus does look nice, just gotta find where to get it thanks.

Back to modular, dual rail power(whats that all mean) this is my first build, wanna make sure its done right, and that im using the correct components.

rise, are you having the problems mentioned in that old thread about how the fan for the tp2's were messed up?

not at all. my fan spins around 800 most of the time and tops around 1100. i run 24/7 and oc the cpu 20-25%. i re-read that article a few times as i was a bit concerned but to be blunt, i have no idea what the guy was doing to make it spin at 1800rpm.

here ya go, the psu fan is represented as the "pwmic". i took these for my system "gallery" just for reference and stuff. i'm not a complete loser... really...i'm not... 😛

i don't like modular myself. i have 2 dongles i had to tie up and away, the extra pci-e one and the second sata one. everything else is in use. the unused ones are tucked out of view in the psu cage, you need to get on your knees to see it.

non-modular are generally more powerful, look at the rails on the ocz powerstream and modstream , size to size.

the dual 12v rail is the new standard. it won't hurt and depending on who you listen to is either superior or inferior to single rail. it basically divides the 12v rail, the most important, between the major components. 1 rail for the mobo/cpu and the other for graphica card'hdd, i think, something like that anyway.

i'm sure someone else can explain the breakdown better.

I think im going with the lian case, the Antec does look very good, but the black brushed aluminum just goes better with all of my components in my house.

Ans for power supply i thinkim going with the: OCZ OCZ520ADJ ATX 520W Power Supply 100-120V AC/200-240V AC TUV, UL, CSA, CE, CB, FCC - Retail
rise 4310 convinced me lol
