I have a friend that's scared to build his computer. He won't let me build it for him. The reason is because he wants a warrenty with the computer.

Who would yall suggest to custom build a computer with a warrenty?

If he wants warranty without too much hassle then why don't you just buy ALL the components from ONE source. That way he will have to deal with one vendor only and not mess around with "RAM came from X HDD from Y and CPU from Z". Besides there is a warranty with every PC component from the manufacturer which won't be void so easily. If you go ahead and buy DELL or whatever the warranty will be void the second you open the box to upgrade something. Also: If you do your research correctly and avoid obvious problem zones like IBMs newer HDDs then you should be OK because experience taught me that most failures in computers happen within the first few weeks of operation. After that you rarely get into trouble.

if hes set, then i would definitely getting every component from one company, to avoid hassles. except maybe for ram, because i would get that from crucial (cheap as all hell, and one of the best companies).

TC, while expensive, has the best choices imo. They don't offer the EPoX 8K7A, but you can get the Giga GA7DXR, Corsair RAM, prettymuch any decent vid card, any Creative card or a Phillips AE, etc.
