Just throwing the idea around. You can get 5-7in lcd's for @100 bux. Smartmedia and CF cards are real cheap. I'm sure I can make a nice housing out of aluminum, wood, lexan, etc. what do you think? How do I get the pictures out? Any one else do this yet?
Thanks,
Phil

You could probably get something like a palm pilot and rig the new LCD up to it somehow. I can't think of any other way you could do it, there's not hardware that small enough to be a good picture frame.

I've seen some Kodak "digital picture frames" for around $100 at places that just randomly pull images off of a CF card, it's hard to beat the price being that you don't have a built in firmware and CF reader. You'll spend more money doing it yourself, but you don't get the fun factor of building one. So it's up to you.

If I was to do it, I'd probably buy and older laptop for around $200 or $300 and just throw the pictures on the machine and get a freeware program that displays random pictures at timed intervals.
