I'm trying to build a winpe cd. I will be using in conjuction with some scripts for powerquest deploy center 5.5. I've heard that all the files needed for the pe cd is on a regular version of windows xp does anone know what files are needed?

IIRC, it will actually ask for the disk itself (or image). I have been playing with it, and have to have at least XP Pro SP1 to get my copy to work (but it did like my evaluation copy of Server 2003 as well). Unfortunately, I don't have the program on my laptop anymore, so I'll have to look when I get home in the morning.

Just use Bart'S PE Builder, there's no reason to go through the hassle of doing it manually.

Agreed. That is a fantastic ISO building toolkit. If you administer any Windows boxes or ever help out friends/family with broken PCs then you need to build one of these. 🙂
