Building Something New after 5 years

I have done some research and browse the forums long enough. I need a new computer for gaming and been out of the loop for awhile. RTS are not available on my xbox360 and COH was owning my P4 2.6. I digress. My alpha build. NOTE: I want to go for the most bang for the buck!

Processor: Intel e2180

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
I was thinking about the Abit IP35-e but there is a combo at clubit

RAM: G. Skill DDR2 800 2x1GB

Video Card: Leadtek 8800gt 512mb
1 yr. warrenty... 199 after rebates. Should I bite?

PSU: My OCZ 520w Modstream
Should I buy a new one? I'm not ready to give this guy up. I do plan to overclock so....

There you have it and I love to hear your opinions and expertise on this matter. Thanks!

Your goal of getting 'most bang for the buck' is met with that config. Cheap yet quality parts will get you going in the right direction

Have fun !

I'd go with 2x2Gig RAM as well....it's so cheap, why not? Also, if you ever go to Vista, more RAM will help. You can get 4Gig RAM for $70 now with rebates.

Your OCZ PS will be fine.

You could spend a bit more, get a decent 3rd party HS, and OC the CPU to get even more value out of it as well.

Nah, keep the stock heatsink. The E2000 series OCs really well.

I was thinking about getting the AC pro 7 but I guess I'll wait on that.

Oh, and here's a good deal on a case: http://www.microcenter.com/sin...tml?product_id=0265143

I was planning to get that case too. I failed to mention a case because it was more of a personal preference for looks than anything else.

For 30$ more you get 2x2gb: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820231122 Videocard, meh, rather spend 20-30$ extra for lifetime warranty, or get a HD3870 512mb instead, that should be plenty of gpu power for most RTS's where CPU power is almost equally important. Your OCZ should be just fine. No need for a case ?

Should I get that or the G. Skill DDR2 1000 version?

I guess I could use vista for dx10 and being able to use 4gb of ram. Vista seems such a system hog. Are there any software that take advantage of 64-bit?
