building server please advise

Hey whats up all

Im building a game server out of the remains of a Micron SE440BX computer
I'm trying to keep the cost down on this one, but optimizing it is a concern
its a celeron processor, but the motherboard only supports up to
450mHz. Im thinking about replacing it with a cheap Duron or pentium cpu/mobo
what would you recommend? Specific Suggestions?

If you already have most of the parts (you didn't specify), why do you try with the current hardware you have and then if the performance isn't acceptable, then upgrade. If don't most of the parts, nevermind.

if all you have is a celeron right now, than it would definitely be worth it to upgrade. for a little more than the price of a better p3, you can get a 1ghz tbird with motherboard (about 120). just head over to pricewatch, and look at their motherboard/cpu combos.
