I'm looking at the ASUS B350-I and X370-I MB's. Now I googled both chipsets and all I['m finding is the 370 has multi-gpu support and potentially more USB headers. Googling both boards I'm not seeing what's different, the spec sheets look identical to me. On an ITX build where you can't run multi GPUs, is there any reason I should spend $50 more on the x370? Seems pointless that ASUS made a X370, but there's probably something I'm missing.

X370 boards should have beefier VRMs and power circuitry to support heavy overclocking (some boards have 8+4 pin cpu power connector). But personally I won't do that on ITX platform. Better save that money for something else (having quieter PSU, HSF, or case is a good example).

other main difference is more PCIe connectivity on the 370.

For me, if in was doing an ITX build I don't think there would be much if any benefit in the 370. The small form factor means you won't be using a lot of PCIe lanes and also limits cooling solutions so probably no extreme over clocking either.
