I plan on purchasing a new system with the following:

3200+ Venice

.. and thats as far as i can get. im new to everything to say at the least and i heard the 3200 venice can overclock well.. how likely is it to reach or surpass fx speeds without having to spend prenium?

Budget ~ 1000 including monitor

I also plan on getting a

sound audigy 2 zs
and a 6600gt

any suggestions or reccomendations will be appreciated, thanks

oh thanks everybody, and the guide is pretty useful - i will finish reading when i get my parts :

from what i can gather it will look something like this:

AMD ATHLON 64 3200+ 939 Venice - $190

CORSAIR XMS 1GB (512x2) PC3200 2-3-3-6 - $121

DFI LANPARTY N64 UT ULTRA-D ATX AMD MOTHERBOARD - $135

Case- antec, aspire
Monitor - dell, samsung, sony

budget is around $1000-1200. My main priority is to have the venice run @ 2.6ghz and last at least 5 yrs

yes they will overclock better.

the audigy game is the same as the normal one plus 5 games(splinter cell, one of the jedi knights, hitman, tomb raider, and a rainbow 6) so if you want those games its a good deal otherwise save your money.

i like this case
but i'd just get a case that you like. the more important part is the PSU that you get.

and here is a good deal on a psu
