I just recieved all my new computer parts in the mail today. I set everything up in the case and all looked good but when I hooked up the computer to a monitor the monitor will not turn on. So I tried another monitor and it also did not work. The cpu fan is running correctly, the lights on the front light up and stay on as long as the computer is on and dont blink or anything. I tried moving my ram around to diffrent slots and also reinserting my video card.

I took my old video card out and tried the one from my old computer, and also I used some old DDR ram also but no dice. There are no noises when I boot up. Does anyone have a clue as to what else could prevent my monitor from turning on.

Aspire turbo X-Dreamer
Enlight 420w
Abit NF7-S
AMD Barton 2500+
Corsair 512 XMS DDR PC3200
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 128mg
Lite On 52x cdrw
Western Digital 80gig SE 7200

First thing, clear the CMOS. Then make sure the IDE cables for your HD are snug in their sockets. Then check the ATX power connector on your motherboard, make sure it's connected tightly.

Take out the mobo and try it out on a wooden surface like a desk. If it boots then, you know that it was shorting out in your case. This means it was not properly seated. If it does not boot, you have a DOA mobo.

Minendo thanks for that tip it worked. The monitor turned on with the mobo outside the case. How can I set it up inside the case so it will work properly?

Make sure the mobo is properly seated on the standoffs provided with your case otherwise it will short out. Just try reinstalling it in the case now and make sure to seat it properly.🙂
