So after scouring these boards and various guides here's what I've come up with for the new system I'm building. I wanted it to be mid-high range, good for gaming, and reliable. I'm not a big overclocker so that's not a big concern.

Case: Antec P150
DVD Drive: NEC DVD Burner ND-3550A
Hard Drives: WD Raptor 74gig Serial ATA, 2x 200gig IDE (from old computer)
Monitors: 2x Hyundai L90D+ 19" LCD
Graphics Card: evga Geforce 7800GT 256MB
RAM: 2x 1GB PC3200 Corsair
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+

I think the only thing I'm missing is the motherboard, so recommendations there with what I currently have would be much appreciated. I'm also considering getting a separate power supply, as I've read the one that comes with the P150 has a habit of being dead. I'm assuming an Antec Truepower 430W would be enough, or do I need to go up to 550W? Am I missing any possible conflicts or problems with what I've picked out?

The Antec NeoHE is a very good PSU, it's just there have been some compatability issues, however it's been over 2 months since they got sorted so the dud parts should be out of the supply chain by now. YOU DO NOT NEED MORE THAN 400W UNLESS YOU ARE GOING SLI.

If you're not going to overclock much then not the DFI lanparty Ultra-D. It's a great OC board, but more trouble than it's worth otherwise.

Asus A8N-E is quite nice features wise and plain good alround.

Ok - I was just concerned because some of the most recent reviews on Newegg (from last week) were saying that they were still getting DOA PSUs.

Um yeah, so it seems Antec hasn't fixed their Antec NeoHE 430w problem that ships with the P150, so... You might want to buy a separate Antec NeoHE 500w :)

If he gets a non-Asus motherboard that shouldn't be a problem. MSI K8N Neo4, EPoX 9NPA+ Ultra, DFI Lanparty UT NF4, etc...

(hope I got those names right)
