I'm putting together a new system for a friend of mine. It will be used for surfing, office, and "some" digital editing (mostly digital pictures) No OC'ing. He would like the TV recording option hence the AIW. The setup below is what I'm thinking of, it's pricing out at about $1250 at newegg which is the budget I've been given to work with and I still haven't picked speakers yet.

Comments, suggestions?
thanks rb56

i think that this looks like a great system.
i like the abit nv7-133r (have one, it's great)
i might spring for a larger and faster hd like the wd 80gb jb special edition.
and maybe a bit more ram, up to 512mb .
but minor quibbling aside,
nice choices.
good luck

Thanks for the reply and the advice foofoo. I would go for more ram and HD space but for the budget. I'm wondering if there is a better choice for an LCD, (the veiwsonic is out of stock as of tonight at newegg) looking at the Samsungs. Anybody have any experience with the SyncMaster 151S?

thanks,

It looks like a great system. It looks like you really did your homework and are getting the components that give you the most bang for your buck.
You might want to consider a larger hard drive if you are going to be taping tv on your computer. It will fill up pretty fast.
