building new SFF system for 3D modelling...

ok so i want to build a SFF primarily for 3D modelling and rendering, and i was wondering if anyone out there had any advice (bear with me, i'm a newbie at this and i have a whole list of questions).

the first major question is whether to go with an AMD 64-bit processor or an equivalent Intel processor - looking at mid-range pricing here.

secondly, if i go with an Intel processor, should i go with the Aria, Shuttle SS56L, or Shuttle SB75s (if i went with an AMD i think i'd go with the Soltek 3801... can't find a nVidia 250g microATX mobo for the Aria)? i looked for info on the SS56L on some forums but didn't find anything, and i'm wondering if there really is any difference between the SS75s and the SS56L. i'm tempted to go with one of the Shuttles here b/c i can't find any microATX mobos that have the 875 chipset and support firewire (i can't find the ABIT IS-12 for sale anywhere).

also, what kind of video card should i be looking at? i'll probably go with the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, but i don't really know if thats the best buy for my money.

basically, for 3D modelling and rendering, what kind of system should i build? thanks a lot for any responses!

Not aware of the software taking advantage of the 64bit processors yet and same with the modeling software.

I'd go with Intel only because I prefer them but you do get more bang for your buck AMD wise.

I'd go with shuttle as most people like them and say good things about them.

I take it your modeling isn't 'critical' work as your going for a non certified graphics card liket he Radeon 9800 right? Well that is fine.

Give it plenty of ram.

You may want to keep in mind that iWill is coming out with a SFF dual Opteron setup. This would rock in serious 3D.

Here is more info on it. This is what *I* would do if I were going to build a serious 3D workstation in a SFF.
