You can get a 200 gig Seagate HD at outpost for 40 bucks AR I think its the .7 model though.

It looks good. The only thing I am not sure about is those speakers. I am not a sound guy, but the Logitech X-230's seem to be highly recommended for budget speakers. You should consider them.

Personally, I would get a SATA drive instead of PATA because of the thinner cables. It's just so much neater, especially if you play to add more drivers.

diff from 7200.8 and 7200.7 isnt that noticable in real world stuff. so getting that rebate would be a good saver. though i'd still get the 7200.8 for other reasons of my own.

get a benq dw1640, and TRY TO GET AN X800XL. base x800's are stinky poo. and theres an msi mobo around the same price as that chaintech. i think it has better features? i dunno?

Looks pretty good.

I would go for a SATA harddrive, though. If anything- the cables are much, much nicer to work with and won't affect airflow thru your case. Usually, SATA is slightly faster also - not much, but worth the extra few bucks IMO.

so you think i should go for an x800xl? i dont really wanna go over $850 so if you could suggest something like a cheaper case or something like that to bring down my total thatd be great...

You should upgrade your mobo to the EPoX 9NPA+ Ultra. You'll be able to get a much nicer overclock on your 3000+. There's a nice MSI X800 at Newegg for $165 now with $30 mail in rebate. Cheaper than that Sapphire.

thanks but im not planning on OCing

IMO yes the power supply is 24 pins and is made by antec a pretty good psu

usally i recomend a diffrent case and powersupply but i think its a good deal

either case the piano sonata or the slk300 will be good 🙂

ok thanks guys i think im gonna go with everything i have on the list above...id like to go for the x800xl but i dont have the cash for it...i dont want to go over $850

i'd go with a Antec 3000blk case along with a 450W Fortron Source.

together, they will cost you $90. so you will get a much better power supply and a great case and save $30.

add $12 and get a Epox 9npa ultra motherboard. i think it is definately worth it.

your graphics card is fine. remember you can overclock it if you want more performance down the road

the rest looks great

I say just go ahead and buy the EPoX 9NPA+ Ultra and AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice b/c right now you get a combo deal $20 off

and GeIL Value 1GB (2 x 512MB) Cas Latency 2.5 and heat spreader $94

Go to shop.ati.com and get a X800 Pro for 185 shipped ... instead of spending 178 for a lower end version its also has a 3yr warrenty .... seriously..
