Is it possible to know if my Raptor is working before trying to install the OS?

I have a 256 MB 6800 Ultra... What do I set the AGP mem to in the bios? 256?

of course you can check, many ways

you can either use dos boot disk and run a few formats or you can use wd diagnostic floppy (dl from wd)

I have read so many opinions on the aperture size (that is what you are talkin about right?) and have heard that the most recent advice about "the more onboard vid mem you have, then aperture should be lowered to 64 or 32mb" is the way to go. Why? I really dont know but maybe this allows for more of the onboard vid mem to be utilized and not opt to go into your sys mem for more intensive texture loads. Have run benches with all settings and there is no difference to me. Your bios should recognize your raptor during post screen/s if your settings in onboard devices are configured/enabled properly.
