I am going to completely rebuild my computer this week and due to "funds" I am going to have to stick with the P55 because the X58 is too much.

So, I already have an Intel i5-750 CPU,

Now.....which motherboard should I put it in? I have read what seems like 3,546,092 reviews and shootouts and I didn't find even two that aggreed on the final thoughts.

Therefore, I am aasking for advise here.

As I said, I have the

1. i5-750 with a Coolermaster V8 Cooler.
2. Hyper Type IIR 850 watt PSU
3, GSkill Ripjaws (F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM)
4 Sapphire HD 4890 (850/974)

I have tried the ASRock P55 Extreme and do not really like it...so I want to replace it.

Could I get some suggestios as to which P55 motherboard would work best for me. I do play game but mostly use my PC for websire design. I have a small website design business and do a lot of multitasking while up and running.

I do plan to overclock but I do not need 4.0 Stable for 3 months

I have been thinking about the following:

1. Foxconn Inferno Katana GTI
2. MSI P55-GD65
3. GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD3R
4. ASUS P7P55D
5, ECS P55H-A(1.0)

As you can see, all of these fall around $130 to $160 and that is my budget for the motherboard.

Any suggestions will be greatly apprciciated

I know thay are all very close as far as options and performance, I jusy want to get the one that will help me (amature overclocker) get the best overclocking results without having to worry about voltages other BIOS features I don't recognize.

Like I said, I think they are all veyr similiar, but I would appreciate any suggestions with a reson why..

Thanks,

Verus Fortis

What didn't you like about the ASRock P55 Extreme? Might help people steer you to a board you will like.

#1 Asus P7P55D because among the boards in its price range it requires a lower QPI/VTT to overclock to similar speeds and retains power saving technologies while the processor is overclocked and runs in idle mode! Can access 21x multiplier when overclocking 750 in static mode.

#2 Gigabyte UD3R. Very solid board but won't lower voltages when the processor is overclocked. Can run my GSkill ram at 1.56V at CL7 DDR3-1600. It has lousy fan speed controls though and no firewire if you need that. Also SATA ports stick away from the mobo which doesnt help cable clutter. Stability wise, this board is top notch. Dual Bios chips, 2oz copper design, 8+2 power circuitry. Can't access 21x multiplier on 750 when overclocking, unless enable Turbo mode.

I heard good things about MSI GD65, so it would be my 3rd choice. But I hated my CD53, so I can't provide any positive comments. MSI is still insisting on flashing the BIOS via USB key in 2009. Plus when you adjust the timings on the ram you have to do it for each stick individually (super annoying!). I feel like I am back in 2003. This was my 2nd MSI board which wouldn't be stable.

Otherwise I would look into EVGA boards with Lotes socket.

That ECS board is junk. UD3R and Asus P7P55D stand out from 'budget boards'
