Hello guys i just got done with my crossshair iv formula love the board hate the chip. I sold the board and chip to a friend now its time for intel 2600k. Im looking for a board that i will be happy with for some time to come. My main game is starcraft 2 and i want 60 fps. Main movie goal is blu ray 3d with great sound.

my parts

asus vg236h 120 hz 3d monitor

evga gtx 580 sc

gskill drr3 1600 mint for intel been using it on amd

wd black raid-0 640 drives

antec true power new 750

corsair h70 cpu cooler.

Ok now back to what i need. Soo the main goals for this new setup is great movie sound Ok game sound great fps in game. im doing right now 28 to 50 with alot of slow downs in starcraft2 with out the 3d on. My goal is to play sc2 on ultra none 3d around 60 fps all the time. I have a gtx 260 black i can use for a second card to help cut down the work load of the gtx 580 if that helps at all. The mother boards im thinking about are.

asrock exetreme 6 likes THX board good specs. worries ASROCK never used them before dont know how long it will last.

gigabyte series 5 or 7 likes build looks solid and great warranty worries No THX

asus maximus rog likes ASUS is the king last for ever great oc. worries NO THX and cost the most out of any p67 board not sure its wroth its price. Can't find any where about sound software it has.

If there is a better setup for what im trying to do im open thanks for all the help

If i use my gtx 260 black with my gtx 580 with that make it run 8x8x for the video lanes or will it run 16x 4x how would that work?

I found my problem in sc2 my asus crosshair iv formula was chaning to epu mode and not game mode. fixed back at 120 fps with min around 28. thinking about either the intel still or just upgrading to the 1100t to bring up the min fps. Not sure yet..

Why don't you wait for like 4-5 months so the technology can mature a bit?
Expect trouble with your new setup. And learn from mistakes. The forums are crawling with P67 issues.
