Greetings all,

I am building a new rig soon, and while I have most of the components already picked out, I am having a bit of trouble picking out a new video card. My old system was an XP 3200+ CPU paired with a ATI 9800 Pro card. Since I don't upgrade all the time, I am looking for a card that will last me awhile.

Games I currently play the most are HL2, WoW, and BF2 after the upgrade is finished, and the new CPU will be a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice, which I plan to OC.

The video cards I am torn between are the $300 dollar Leadtek 6800GT, the $275 dollar ATI Radeon X800 XL , and the $504 dollar EVGA 7800GTX

Any help for a gamer who has gone since Monday without his fix and is starting to lose it?

If you can afford the 7800GTX it is a rockin card and will definitely last you a good amount of time. I'd say you could run it easily for 2-3 years, of course you won't have all the new flashy stuff that will be available 2 years down the road but it should still run fine.
