I would consider getting the Plextor burner as most Yamaha burners have a relatively large number of bugs. I myself have just upgraded from a 12/10/32 Plextor burner to a 16/10/40 Plextor last night.

You may consider getting the IBM 45G HD instead of the 30G. The price difference is very small and you get 50% more in size. I have 2 IBM 45G running RAID-0 on my ABIT KT7A board. My CPU is T-Bird850 oc to over 1Ghz (yet to find its limit as I did the upgrade only last night)
