Building new Athlon64 rig

It's been quite a few years since I built my current rig, in fact i'm surprised it's still up and running. But it's way past time I upgraded to something more up to date. However, I not looking for an extreme overclocker, especially since im on a budget of about $1100 but I still want a decent sytem. Anyway, I have been looking around these boards for some time and reading reviews, and I think I'm going to go with the following components, but any input would be appreciated, especially if their had been any known incompatabilies between the componets i have selected.

Athlon 64 3000+ (S939)
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
Corsair VS1GBKIT400 (2x 512MB)
Chaintech GeForce 6600GT PCI Express
Samsung 120GB SATA
Antec Sonata w/380W Power Supply

Oh, and I'm probably not going to do any major OC'ing with this rig.

Just so you know, if you ever decide to get into some OCing, that Winchester 3000+ can do it very well, even on stock cooling.

In any case, the A8N-SLI is a very expensive motherboard ($269 from Newegg, $229 from MWave). I wouldn't recommend SLI for this kind of budget. Go down to an AGP motherboard like the Epox EP-9NDA3+ ($120 from Newegg) or wait for more selection of NF4 boards, and then try to pick up a 6800GT (eVGA's AGP model is $388 from Newegg; PCIe models are usually $500 unless Chumbo.com has theirs in stock for $400). There's also the X800XL on the horizon for PCIe, which will provide performance near the level of the 6800GT for a suggested price of $300. However, it's still vaporware at this point, and if/when it is available, it will probably retail near what PCIe 6800GTs are currently commanding for a while.

Thanks ts3433 i will take your advice and wait on a better selection of NF4 boards to come out, and will look into the X800XL.
