Building My Own PC

hey, i am currently going to build by own PC this summer...i am soon getting my parts...and ready to install them...but i have a question...wen done installing motherboard, cpu, drives,cd-roms...etc...i am confused on where does the gray long wires connect on the mobo for the cd-rw, cd-rom, floppy drive, and the harddrive

-thanks

any help is well apreciated...

To the ATA Controllers...

Normally located on the side of the board about 2 inches long... Length of the Gray (Parrell) cable connector....

yeah i know...im just talking about like each specific place to put each of them...such as like the wires that connect to my cd-rom/cd-rw wires connect to specificly which ATA controllers on the mobo, etc..

it doesn't rele matter just make sure your harddrive is connected to the master, the first part of the gray wire and make sure the wire isn't backwards,

depends on the mobo

usually 3 connections
#1 1-2 hard drives on cable #1
#2 1-2 optical drives on cable #2
#3 (small connection) 1 floppy drive on cable #3

(does this answer your question?)

IF you have 2 optical drives and 2 hard drives, put a hard drive and a optical on each...

Like Primary Master and slave would be

- HDD
- Burner

Secondary Master and slave

-HDD
-DVD drive
