Building my own pc, need help finding the right psu

Hey I'm building my own pc and these are the components I have chosen so far and have,

Xfx 680 LT SLI MOBO
Xfx 8600 GT XXX Vid Card
Intel E6750 Processor
Asus18x18 DvD+R Optical Drive
Seagate Barracuda 250gb HD
OCZ Platinum Revision 2x1gb Ram
and the o/s would be xp pro just to put it out there

can anyone recommend a psu?

I was thinking a 500W silverstone element psu but is that not enough power? should I go bigger?

Thanks in advance!

500W is plenty of power for that system, but I would recommend that you put that list up in the General Hardware section and solicit advice. Your build is not as good as it could be.

For example, there's no compelling reason to SLI two mid/low-range cards like the 8600GT. Keeping that in mind, a motherboard with an Intel chipset would probably be superior to one with an Nvidia chipset. Also, the E6750 is being replaced by the E8400, which offers better performance at roughly the same price.
