Building my own machine!

Is it easy to build my own computer?
Any online guide you recommend?
Thanks a lot from a first time computer constructor!

It's easy to put together a computer, but then again for fun I take mine apart and piece it back together when I'm bored...

Taken any a part, played around inside?

EDIT: damn I need to learn how to read :|

ah, first time builder... do you have any experience at all? if not, i would recommend you buy one from Dell.

but if you do have some idea, you can make it through.

tell us a little bit about what u know

do you know how to install computer parts, ie video cards, hard drives, stuff like that? a couple months ago i hadn't built a computer yet but i did do a lot of upgrades before and such and its pretty easy to if you have knowledge about computers.

As the first poster implied, being able to take apart and reassemble an existing machine is a good place to start. Having that machine work correctly after doing so is even better. 🙂 Being able to install your OS, drivers, and programs onto a fresh disk is good, too. Then if you run into problems building a new system, you can be relatively sure that the problem is specific to your new hardware configuration, and isn't due to unfamiliarity with the OS setup. Other than that, it's mostly just a matter of doing the research to figure out what hardware is best for you. If you're careful, you'll spend much more time checking out your options than you will actually assembling the beast.

Sure, putting it together is the easy part, after that comes the hard part of configuring it properly so it runs and runs right. It's not that hard though, as long as you read about it and don't go in blindly. I suggest you do a search on the net for "building a computer" or something along those lines, it will help immensely, and then whatever you get stumped on you can get answers to here. We are always willing to help, it keeps us sharp. You'll find that there are a lot of good, smart and helpfull people in these forums, it's not all little punks with nothing to do.😉
