Building my own desk but concerned about materials being used

I will be building a makeshift desk/workbench for myself using a solid core slab door (80" x 36" at ~100lbs) and either staining it or painting it. I then plan to use steel piping that you can find at Lowe's/Home Depot for the legs and painting them as well to give them a decent finish.

My main question is, if I keep my PC tower on the floor near the (galvanized?) steel/iron piping, will there be any sort of magnetic interference or other problems that may be generated from having all these electronic components near the "legs" of my desk?

Thanks in advance for any input...

true, i wasn't sure if the different type of metal would matter, however... as many pc cases are aluminum or coated steel and my "desk legs" would be pretty heavy duty raw steel or iron

Never noticed a difference whether the computer was on a all steel desk or wooden one.

I may have to ground out my metal computer rollabout. A lightening strike might affect it.😀
