Finally spent about $775 on 4 new items:

DFI Lanparty UT SLI
AMD Athlon 64 3200
BFG 6800 OC 256MB PCI-X
Thermaltake SilentBoost K8

Old/current system:

AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Barton (400mhz)
Asus A7N8X-deluxe (ver 2.0. bios 1008)
ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
Enermax 550w power supply

Going to be building it tonight. Don?t anticipate any problems. Only have one video card for now, plan to buy a matching one as soon as prices drop a bit. Hoping to see a nice increase in performance.

man, no replys..

well its INSANE... just got it up 30 mins ago.. so noticable faster its not even funny.

only one mistake i made.. i had no display.. i was freaking.. then i connected that 4 pin square from power supply to motherboard. solved my problem,

it seems at least twice as quick.

its so quiet, i can hear my hard drives now. never ever could before. ill show a pic of both old and new fan in a few mins.

now i gotta throw my old stuff up for sale.. unless i put it in one of my other computers.

thanks.

im not a pc building guru, but im def picky about my cable work. the SATA power cords help a LOT, and I have no large 4 pins going very low on the box. The top of the window is a bit messy, as thats where i try and stuff the leftovers. but its under my desk anyway, not gonna worry about it.

have a big question tho.. i cant use Asus probe anymore... i want to check my CPU temp.. i downloading something called motherboard monitor, and it seems way more complicated. I cant even get a cpu reading out of it. is there a good program? man..
i never knew my hard drives made noise. now i cant hear my pc at ll..

DAMN!! my cpu fan was STOPPED!! i plugged it into another fan connector and it started again.. i need this monitoring software quick!
