Building low end gaming system

For a system with the Sempron 2800+ what makes more sense the 7300GT or the 7600GT. My concern is that the power of the 7600GT would be limited by the CPU.

I dont plan on upgrading the CPU so I dont wish to spend extra money if im going to turn down graphics settings because of a slow CPU.

I plan on playing mostly FPS like Fear, BF2, Quake 4 and some racing games, i.e. I dont plan on playing Oblivion 😉 .

Most of the games you mention use alot more of the GPU than teh CPU. Although a fast CPU helps alot, the GPU is of primary concern for performance.

Can you spend the extra $10 to move to a 3000+? Then the two will be more in balance.

Either way for FPS games the GPU is most important so you'll want more than the 7300 unless you're happy with 800x600.
