Building Light Bulb Series

I want to build a series of about 20-30 light bulbs.

What kind of cable is needed to do this ( I heard something about how different cables support different ammounts of power) ? What type of power will I need?
Anything else to consider?

EDIT: I want to be build a "christmas lights" series but out of light bulbs
 
IIRC Tungsten is generally used for a filament. the bulb should be a vaccum or the filament won't last. How do you plan on accomplishing that?

How much like Christmas lights do you want them to be? 😉 Is there any specific reason you're wanting to do this?

I'm very interested in why you're wanting to do this... it's not a hard concept, and I'm reluctant to help you when you apparently don't even understand the basics of electricity, such as this.
 
My best guess is that I will need to provide the power for this "series" at different sections in the series.. I dont expect them to be all just one series with one power source.

I dont really need them to light up and then blink or anything.. just to stay lit.
 
Then you don't want "series", you want them parallel, and it will require a pretty heavy cable in a hurry. If each bulb is only 40Watts, only ten of them will be close to 4 AMPS. The longer the cable is, the heavier it will have to be. Maybe you should think about using 12VDC lighting. I think those bulbs are much lower wattage.
