Building HTPC for Gaming/Video

hey all,

im going to build a HTPC that is going to be used as my home theater system controlling my tv, movies, and also playing games!

id like to stay under $1000

i was looking at a gigabyte Ep45-UD3P for the motherboard, or
GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366.

i want something that i can keep for a while without having to upgrade, and stay under my budget.

as for the rest of the hardware its up in the air, like i said im looking for something that i can watch 1080p movies on and play Games.

If you could post your answers to all of those questions, more users will be able to/willing to help out with your choice of components. As is, your description is rather vague so it's hard to tell what should be recommended.
