Upgrading to a 7800GTX will probably offer more performance than spending $277 instead of $100 on a Creative soundcard.

Or you can get ati x1800xl because x1800xl beats 7800gt on game performance.

Holy crap! I wish I was that rich...

But I still wouldn't get that system, doesn't make economical sense to me.

I would get an 800 dollar system, invest the extra 1700(I already have a monitor), then get another 800 dollar system a year or two later, and still have more money than you :)

Then again I don't have a "need" for that much performance...

and I am broken record when it comes to new builds.

ok that's a good system but you spent too much. you don't need that $277 sound card. settle for $100.

the raptor should not even be considered. if you really want speed, get 15k SCSI for the same price. u save another $160 there.

for your seagate, if you get 2 250gb drives, it'll come out cheaper. might get a couple degrees hotter though

u definitely don't need the $27 drive. just a waste and uselessly takes up a 5.25" drive bay. u can get a 19" but if you need the 20, go with it. very nice, very solid system you have there. use it well :)

Replace the ASUS A8N-SLI deluxe with the A8N-SLI premium.

Trust me, the chipset fan on the deluxe is a POS - i had to replace it after it failed on my MoBo. Heaps of other ppl have had the same problem. The premium uses heatpipes instead, so no moving parts to wear out.
