Heya all. Soon I'm going to be building a computer for myself, first computer I've ever built. I'm pretty comfortable that i can do it. I was looking at buying a DVD burner, the Sony DW-U10A http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=property&DEPA=1 I'm a little scared about the whole OEM thing. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the DVD drive will use basic windows ATAPI drivers, Connect with basic 40 pin ribbon cable? If anyone can advise on good DVD burning and DVD watching software? To make it even worse on Sony's website i can't find that drive, how is Sony with like firmware upgrades and stuff? I'm scuured!

OEM - Whitebox hardware meaning sometimes they dont come with warrenty, software, cables that you might need

and you meaning a 40 pin ribbon cable thats right thats all you need but i suggest you get a round cable to better airflow in your case for more cooler needs.

And building a computer isnt too hard unless when you built it and it has problems :wine:;)
