building first system. how does this sound?

ok I'm completly fed up with dell, compaq etc... my new dell died 7 days after the warrenty ran out🙁 I'm SOL, so I will be building my next system from scratch. Here's my idea so far.
Case-Enlight 7237 with 300 watt PS
MoBo-MSI K7T Turbo
Processor-Tbird 1.2
Hard Drive-Maxtor 40GB U100 7200 2MB
Video Card-Ati Radeon LE 32MB DDR
CdRW-Teac 16-12-40
Floppy-Whatever I can get for cheap
OS-win 2k pro
What do all you Gurus think
BTW this is my first post here so take it easy on me 😀

Hmm RAM I'd put atleast 256 in there, its so cheap now ...

I'll probably upgrade to 512 (I have 256 now) after the holidays (ya i know i think far in advance) because it's not like its gonna go to waste. Especially since I plan to dual boot Win 2000 / XP

Anyway you need a sound card/Speakers ... I have the Santa Cruz Turtle Beach but of course Sound Blaster X-Gamer is a great choice as well .. Speakers I have harmen kardon hk 695 i love them ...

I think I will use the onboard sound for a while so I can rebuild some savings. my old labtec 3 piece speaker set should last a little while longer.

Just for conversational reasoning and a suggestion. Go with an Abit mobo. They are very stable and o/c well plus they have been in the bussiness awhile. Unless you just like the MSI that is..then go with the MSI. 🙂

The reason Im leaning towards the MSI mobo is the onboard sound, It will save me a little money so when I do buy a sound card and speakers they can be top of the line.

well you need speakers no matter what, even with on board sound ..

You don't have a bad graphics card so I would assume your playing games??

I guess you can save up that's cool ...

Just don't be suprised when you get crappy sound out of that on board sound card.

Great case, if you are trying to save money which I guess you are, I would say get the T-bird 900 at krexdirect.com for 80 bucks and oc that sucker. Plus is the 16x burner neccessary??? I got a samsung 8x for 77. Other than that every looks cool, good luck !!!!

I already have the teac burner, and for 120 I think the 1.2 is worth it. Does this msi board OC well? prolly wont do it at first but I like to have my options open😀
