Hello
I am looking to build my first computer and would like some help on what everyone here thinks. This won?t be a totally new computer, as I will just be moving some components from my current computer over until I can afford to upgrade them. I was thinking of getting a bundle from TigerDirect.com to ensure that all of the components were compatible and everything. The bundle that I was thinking of getting can be found here:
Bundle from TigerDirect.com

The components included in the bundle include:
Ultra Wizard Black ATX Mid-Tower Case
MSI K8N Neo4-F NVIDIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor
Ultra X-Connect 400W ATX Power Supply
Fanner Tech AMD K8 Cooler Fan
Ultra 512 MB PC 3200 DDR 400 MHz Memory
Keyboard and Mouse

In addition to this I already have a PNY G Force FX 5200 Graphics card that I will use for the moment and a 20GB hard drive that I can hopefully upgrade by the end of the summer.

What do you guys think about getting bundles in general and the individual components in this bundle? I am not a hard core gamer, but I do do some gaming and I will also use it for surfing the internet and school work type things. I know this won?t be a high-end computer but I?m hoping that I can easily upgrade it in the future. If you have any questions about what I posted or my current system let me know and I will try to answer them. Any suggestions or advice you have is appreciated.
Thanks

Go to pricewatch.com and price those components individually and see what you come out with.

The only problem I have with bundles is they pick the components not you. In this case I don't like the power supply, the HSF, or the RAM. But the price is nice:)

And I would highly recommend going ahead and getting a new HD, you can get an 80-100GB for well under $100 and it will save you many headaches. If you must use your exsisting HD, back up all your data on disk and wipe the disk prior to doing your build. If you don't you will have to do a repair install of the OS and will still likely have problems.

Thanks for the advice. After thinking it over some more and some suggestions from people on here I think I am not going with the bundle. Here are the current components I have selected:

ASPIRE X-Gear ATXB5KLW-BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 420W Power Supply - Retail
MSI K8N Neo4-F Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice Integrated into Chip FSB Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3200BPBOX - Retail
CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model VS1GBKIT400 - Retail
Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JD 160GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM
Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 6Y160M0 160GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM
A4Tech SWOP-80 2-Tone 8 Buttons 1x Wheel USB + PS/2 Optical Mouse - Retail

I?m not sure which hard drive to go with. They seem pretty much identical to me. Does anyone have any suggestions on which hard drive would be better or any other suggestions on any of the other components?
Thanks

Do not use the PSu that comes with that case. I would suggest the Cooler Master casde at newegg for $50 and then buying a seperate PSU. Or you can buy an antec PSU with a PSU. I would also get the Chhaintech VNF4 Ultra.

Monarch is good for bundles. I got a motherboard combo from them and they assemble the whole thing (CPU, HSF and RAM), update the bios for you, and stress test it for you. All for free!
