There's bad things going around maxtors, I personally had 2 maxtors and had problems with one of the them all the time....arrghhh...If u want speed go Western Digital, althogh companies like Hitachi are quality drives also.

Wait a sec...do AMD boards support NCQ?...I thought it was just intel?

Yes, AMD board does also supported NCQ. Webdork, If I were you, I would earn more money to get DFI crossfire motherboard and ATI R580s at the end of '06. I can guarantee that Seagates 7200.9, Western Digital Raptors, Hitachi SATAII and Maxtor Maxline III is awesome hard drives that will blow your mind by fastest performance. Anyways, If you dont want to wait little longer, then buy that rig you want, I think they are great.

well my rig (sig) was my first attempt and I love it. You've got the bankroll so my advice is not to wait for anything. Something new will always be just around the corner. Get out there and start ordering.

7800 sli might be a waste you could put that money to better use I'd say...

Hey thanks alot for all of the help and support. Chopper God said it best: there will always be something bigger and better. I went ahead and ordered the original setup (including 24" wide-screen monitor) with the following exceptions:

- only got one 7800GTX (for now anyways)
- got the Titan 550 w/ PSU and XP-120 Heatsink with Paraflo 120mm fan.

so in summary: newegg and directron rule, and early next week I'll be playing HL2 and Doom 3 like I have never seen them before. I will try to take some pics if you guys are interested. Thanks again!
